Liu Sanjie a well-known water impression performance played not by real actors but by the local people of Yangshuo, quite a small province, but became famous because of the show.

The area houses 2500 seats and a definite must see for tourists and locals alike.

Liu Sanjie is a story that originates from the Zhuang minority people
-the largest minority group in China.
Legend says that a woman called Liu Sanjie, which means "third sister" had
a beautiful voice, so striking that it could even raise the dead.
It became such a remarkable story that in 1960 a movie was made.

In 2004, director Zhang Yimou known for House of Flying daggers started directing the whole thing.
His main inspiration was nature, the mountains and the river.
His emphasis was to create a dramatic and astounding effect
on the beauty of Li River and its reflections.

This hill stands majestically in the downtown area of Guilin city,
right at the junction of the Li River & the Peach Blossom River,
It is one of the symbols of Guilin.
