" Who is Clet? "

Photobucket

Clet, the street sign artist ,
is one of the many talents here in Paris, in fact, his artwork can't only be seen in this city but elsewhere like in Rome as well.

I have a confession to make, at first, I really thought it was a real street sign. ^0^ hah!
But this was just way cool so I took a close up of it and was surprised that someone on the window was actually looking at us!

" Calle de Petrixol "

Photobucket

Photobucket

This charming street beside Sta. Maria del Pi church, which I have posted awhile back,
is a narrow alleyway, lined with old houses, garden balconies, antiques and paintings.
But what lead me specifically to this street were its nice, decorative tile designs
with some cute but funny catalan slogans.

I don't speak their language so, too bad, I can't translate what it means.
they all look the same from afar, but if you notice closely,
each tile is different from the other.

and then, there's the fascination from reading Carlos Ruis Zafon's = Shadow of the Wind,
which maybe, one of its inspiration while writing the book.

A good way to start Calle de Petrixol is from the church of Sta. Maria del Pi,
You'd find the house of Solingen on your right,
Photobucket

there's a house number #1 with a plaque that reads Entrada and walk your way towards the end.

As for me, I couldn't stop taking fotos from left to right.
The historic feel of this path was an interesting treat.

and to end our short walk,
our good ol' boots infront of a plaque.

" call of nature "

« Ou sont les toilettes » is probably one of the few phrases one needs to remember
when the call of nature is badly needed. ^0^

But is it that hard to find a decent restroom in Paris that is free-of-charge?
erm... in most touristy area, I should say it's not that difficult,
you can always head to any fast food chains or giant stores like the Printemps or Haussman.
and in almost every arrondissement,
Paris has installed these sanitized public toilets which can come in handy.

But based from my experience though,
I find it very troublesome.

1st: the waiting game,
lucky if you can get inside without waiting for one's turn.
I did wait in line like the rest,
while people walking on the street would glance at your direction from time to time.
a bit annoying, I gave up after 5 minutes, couldn't stand it.

2nd: because it's machine operated,
everything's in sequence,
from the flushing, to the cleaning, to even disinfecting.
so, if you didn't get the chance to wash your hands for the first time,
you'd have to wait for
the whole 'cycle' to finish
then start it all over again.

or if you prefer, you can always pay for a small fee, like this one we found along Tuileries Garden.
