lost in his thoughts...
I saw this man reading something while i think was waiting or someone inside the orchard mrt station.
I like the big art piece behind and the way he was sitted.

can you guess who's the lion ?^-^
It's Merlion- the official symbol of Singapore.
Me and my family were aboard on a Duck tour trip, cruising along the singapore river and
then we caught sight of this...

"Chijimes" pronounced as chimes was once a convent school of the Holy Infant Jesus in 1854. But times have changed and since then, it has been transformed into a whole new place and is now converted into a plaza/courtyard theme here in the heart of city hall (Singapore).
It took architects and detailed planning for almost 5yrs and the project is said to have cost $100million.
Because of its good location ( just 5-10mts away from the mrt city hall, the Swisotel and infront of Carlton hotel) and grandiose architecture, this place has hosted great events and has become a must-see destination for tourists and frequent visits from the local and ex-pats.
One of the hot spots during nighttime, they have soothing bars inside for those who wish to unwind.
Food connoiseurs will feast on their wide array of different cuisines from asian, western to european restaurants, whether it's fine dining or alfresco.

The night scene of singapore river at the Riverside Point along Clarke Quay area is always filled with people.
There are lots of restaurants to choose from, you have fine dining and al fresco.
You can go bar hopping or go to Ministry of sound (a well known disco bar).
One of the highlights of this place is also the famous "reverse bungee" ride.
But for those who just wants to enjoy the sights... you can either hop on a short trip ferry ride or walk around the block and delight in the beauty of this place.

seen along orchard road is this shopping centre opened in 1993,
Ngee Ann City.
It has two office towers inside, among its shop is Takashimaya dept. store but my favorite is
Kinokuniya - the largest bookstore in southeast asia.
Inside you have a wide array of books and magazines.
I would buy kawaii (manga) comics and also browse through their french and german section. ^-^

from mrt city hall, approximately 5-20 mts away.
some info about s.a.m , and oh! you can see my reflection in there! ^-^
it was a drizzling sunday when i went there with my mom.
well, i always wanted to visit the museum but never got the chance.
luckily that day, since we got nowhere to go bec. the rain wouldn't stopped.
Our hotel was nearby and we decided to hop in there to see what's inside.
wooden green doors serves as its entryway
cool chairs eh? i call them the Wavy bench.
while browsing from here and there, i saw this group of French students hanging out too...
this is the back portion of s.a.m ... well, there's this fountain, a souvenir shop,
a resto called Dome ( i recommend their pizza...yummy).
this portion is still under construction...
this will serve as their new Glass museum.
those colorful flowery-shell like accesories on top are all made of glass.
and still some specific infos about this museum.
do visit this s.a.m's official website for more info. ^-^
happy sunday everyone!

ION Orchard (乌节弯) is the "centre of gravity" in the retail scene, with spectacular frontage and cutting edge designs and concepts, over eight levels of intelligently designed shopping space –
four levels above ground and four levels below –
totalling 66,000 square metres of retail space at the prime site of Singapore’s commercial and shopping artery.
Designed by leading architecture firm Benoy, who brought shoppers iconic malls such as the Bullring in Birmingham, UK. It “demonstrates unique and progressive urban design” to one of Southeast Asia’s most prominent sites. The Benoy team looked to nature for inspiration and re-imagined the orchards that made up the origins of the site, continuing the theme of growth in the design: from seed to stem to tree.

..inside changi airport terminal 2...
pls click image to enlarge...
on the left side of the wall are welcome signs in different languages...
a banner greets you as you walk past the immigration area
which used to be on the other side of the wing...
i don't know why they changed its location, maybe they're expanding it...
this is the immigration area from afar...
