"Chijimes" pronounced as chimes was once a convent school of the Holy Infant Jesus in 1854. But times have changed and since then, it has been transformed into a whole new place and is now converted into a plaza/courtyard theme here in the heart of city hall (Singapore).

It took architects and detailed planning for almost 5yrs and the project is said to have cost $100million.

Because of its good location ( just 5-10mts away from the mrt city hall, the Swisotel and infront of Carlton hotel) and grandiose architecture, this place has hosted great events and has become a must-see destination for tourists and frequent visits from the local and ex-pats.

One of the hot spots during nighttime, they have soothing bars inside for those who wish to unwind.
Food connoiseurs will feast on their wide array of different cuisines from asian, western to european restaurants, whether it's fine dining or alfresco.

  1. Bars & cafés in the old convent is a bit surprising, but everything seems to have been done in a very "classy" way!

I understand if it's a popular place - although it's a bit empty on your nice photos!
