" Ensaimada Mitjana "

Correct me if I'm wrong but apparently,
Mitjana is a catalan word that means Average.
From the looks of it though, the bread doesn't seem to look average.
But it certainly looks delicioso! ^-^

" Arc de Triomf "

In relation to my last post, this is one of the famous ladmarks here in Barcelona,
the Arc de Triomf literally beside the Park de Ciutadella.
If you're taking the metro, get off at the Arc de Triomf station.
Of course, like most parks, it's best to visit the place during the day.

Photobucket

Wikipedia source:
The arch is built in reddish brickwork in the Neo-Mudéjar style.
The front frieze contains the stone sculpture Barcelona rep les nacions
(Catalan for "Barcelona welcomes the nations") by Josep Reynés.
The opposite frieze contains a stone carving entitled Recompense, a
work from Josep Llimona's the earliest period.

I have to admit that I was a bit disapointed,
I think I was expecting to see its grandeur and lush greens around Ciutadella,
but based on what I saw were what seem to be potential thieves and vagrants.
In the middle of our walk heading towards the Arc,
My sister and I were taking endless shots of every detail when an onlooker shouted
" Hey! Beware at your belongings! ".
I quickly turned around to see who shouted and if someone was aiming
for something valuable, but luckily though nothing happened.
Maybe that was a warning for us or just a hoax.

" Bicing "

Photobucket

Bicing or cycling is one of the many "coolest" ways to explore BCN and its environs.
You can easily rent one for about an hour or more and pretend like one of the locals.

But for first timers like us, we prefer the tourist bus, easier and cheaper. ^0^

" Out in the cold "

Photobucket

Oranges are pretty common everywhere,
so why bother capturing them?!

I haven't seen one that almost looks like this... Frosted!
well, that was during December then.

A row of trees along Ciutadella Park,
amidst the long and tiring afternoon walk we had that day.

That's because it's literally everywhere.
You can't miss it.

" The Statue "

Photobucket

Barcelona seems to be a small city but the winding roads and dark alleys can be
quite confusing especially for tourists.
So, here's a tip, if you live near the city area, make Plaça Catalunya as one of your marker.
Here's one of the imposing statues around the Plaza.
Unfortunately, I didn't catch its name.

" El Corte Ingles "

Photobucket

one of the biggest shopping haven in Spain is El COrte Ingles,
At night, it was magical, the flickering strobe lights and all.
but it was less crowded that time,
as it was taken during 25th of Decembre, where the store was closed for the Holidays.

There's ton of them here in BCN, mostly in Catalan or Spanish that is.

I could spend hours in a bookshop and browse all its new edition as well as old.
I can't get enough of them that I always buy at least one book whenever I travel.
